May I Introduce Myself...?

  • RosaArtemisia

I just realized that I should probably introduce myself.  My name is Gwendolyn, and I opened my PoppySwap site just a few months ago, Wild Rose Herbals, named in honor of my mother.

I have a shop with etsy, but opening my Poppy Swap shop was a big step forward for me, because I knew that, at least for the present moment, my work would be mostly scrutinized by the high, exacting standards of other herbalists.  Dare I say that I felt a little bit intimidated?  Well, I did, but here I am .

I cherish the slow, simple life, living as close to the Earth as I know how, and always striving for more.  Working with plants was always just second nature for me, something I never even really thought about or realized I was doing as my head was always stuck in a cloud daydreaming or thinking about something else entirely.  But plants always kept me company and offered me comfort and joy when I could find it no place else.  Making herbal skincare has become intimately intertwined with my journey of self-discovery.  I love that the closer to my truth I am, the more beautiful I feel my work becomes, and I think that is probably true for most.  I have come across some very inspired herbalists while on this journey, for which I am most humbly and joyfully grateful.

So hello from my bend of the California hillls, hello!Smile

Thank you, Kathy! Likewise!  I have been a solitary practitioner for most of my years... I am looking forward to the possibility of community, both online and locally.

I took a look at  your shop, and your serums are lovely.  Also, my interest and curiosity were picqued by some of your ingredients- perhaps I can ask you about it sometime.

Best regards,
